What To Know About Dual Meets

The Wizards compete in the Yankee Swim League, which is comprised of a total of eleven venerable and talented teams located throughout the state.  During the fall season, the Wizards will have a number of regular season meets, facing a different team from the Yankee League in each contest.  Meets take place on Saturdays and can last 4 - 6 hours.  The schedule is set in early September and will be posted on the site when available.

At the end of the season come the three biggest events in the Yankee League - Yankee League Time Trials, Yankee Legaue Championships, and Yankee League All Stars.

ALL MEETS ARE MANDATORY.  Setting a meet lineup takes a considerable amount of time and effort and any unexpected absences are very detrimental to the team.

All swimmers compete in the maximum of events permitted by league rules (with very few exceptions): 3 individual events and one relay or two of each.  It is Wizard Policy that all swimmers on the team participate in the maximum number of events regardless of tenure and ability.  Swimmers compete against swimmers of the same gender and similar age.

For more information on meets, and Trials Finals and All Stars, Please consult the handbook section of this website.

No Swimmer leaves the deck without coaches permission.  ALL SWIMMERS MUST ATTEND THE MEET FROM BEGINNING TO END.  Swimmers may not change, and may not leave until the final cheer. Doing so is a sign of disrespect and will not be tolerated.
